Privacy Policy

The short version

Letterwise does not require an account and does not collect personal information. Your words, your streaks, and your settings stay on your device.

What we don't do

We don't collect personal information, and we don't run analytics or diagnostics of our own. Your game state — the words you've played, your progress, your difficulty and accessibility settings — is stored only on your device, and it is never sent to us. We don't operate servers that receive your data.

Advertising

The free version of Letterwise shows ads between rounds, served by Google AdMob. You can also choose to watch an ad to earn hints — that one only ever plays when you ask for it. Letterwise requests non-personalized ads, and the app does not ask for permission to track you across other apps and websites. To serve an ad at all, the AdMob SDK does receive device-level information such as a device identifier, your approximate region, and basic device details. That data is handled by Google, not by us — see Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data in AdMob.

If you're in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, Letterwise shows Google's consent form before any ad loads. If you decline, the app doesn't request ads at all — it doesn't fall back to some quieter version of them — and the game carries on working normally.

You can change your answer whenever you like: open Settings in the game and tap Privacy Options. That row appears in the regions where the choice applies.

In-app purchases

Letterwise's premium upgrade — which removes ads and unlocks the Extreme and Classic modes — is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We receive confirmation from Apple that a purchase exists so the app can unlock; we never see your name, email, or payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by its own privacy policy.

Your rights in the EU, UK, and Switzerland

Data protection law there gives you the right to see the personal data an app holds about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to take a copy elsewhere, to object to how it's used, to withdraw consent you've given, and to complain to your national data protection authority.

In our case the first few have a short answer: we hold nothing. There is no account, no server, and no copy of your game on our side, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase — uninstalling the app removes everything. For the device data Google receives to serve ads, those requests go to Google under the policies linked above. To withdraw consent, use Privacy Options in the game's Settings.

Children

Letterwise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and move the effective date above.
